FAQ

  • What are your services like?
At Sylvan Way you’ll find two relevant services. Both services offer a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and you will enjoy an exciting, vibrant worship experience.

Our Traditional Service sings both timeless classic hymns as well as modern worship songs with the help of great singers, a  wonderful choir, and classic intrumentation.

Our Contemporary Service sings current worship songs with the help of great singers and talented musicians with contemporary instrumentation.

Pastor Ric  Glomstad in the Traditional Service and  Pastor Russ Reuther in the Contemporary Service preach relevant and Spirit-led messages that proclaim the gospel of Christ.

There is an Intercessory Prayer Team which meets following both services for those who desire a personal prayer experience.
  • What will happen when I arrive?

When you walk into the Traditional or Contemporary Service, you will be greeted by a friendly person who will answer any questions you may have. If you have child care needs and would like to meet our childcare staff we will gladly escort you to our Childrens Center and introduce you to the staff.  We also offer Children’s Church during our services for children K-4.

During the service, you will be invited to fill out the Connection Card within the bulletin.
After service, take the card to the welcome center where we would like to give you a gift and formally welcome you to our church.

  • What should I wear?
Please wear what you’re comfortable wearing; you will find it all at Sylvan Way. You may note that in our Traditional Service the dress is more formal while in the Contemporary Service, casual is the norm.
  • Where are the services located?

Both our Traditional and Contemporary Service 'Journey' are held in our Sanctuary. If it pertains to you and your family, our Children's Church is held in Wiley Hall [basement] which is located in the Early Children's Center.

    Journey Service: 9am - 10:10
    Traditional Service: 11am -12:10

-Checks are to be made out to Sylvan Way Baptist Church or (SWBC).

-Checks can be placed loose in the offering plate/bag or the ‘giving’ slot.

-Giving envelopes make it easier to split up your contributions and offerings.

-If you are writing a check to help support a specific person (i.e. a Missionary) DO NOT write their name on the face of your check, if a person’s name appears on the check your donation will not be tax deductible if you should get audited.

(you will not receive a giving statement for tax purposes this way)

    - To give to specific Missionaries etc. use the numeric code on the link addressing other ministries and funds

Write the amount you want for each category
+Ongoing Ministries & Missions go to the General Fund and a portion goes to Missions General Fund
